Lung Transplant Fellowship Program


Funded fellowship training opportunities are available in lung transplantation.   The program is tailored to the needs of the fellow and varies from 6 months to 1 year in duration.  The fellow will be exposured to all aspects of lung transplantation including recipient selection, donor assessment, donor retrieval, recipient operation, pre- and post-operative care, and long term post-operative management.  We have a separate general thoracic surgery fellowship (5.3.2) but 6 months – 1 year can be incorporated into the training if that is desired.


Applications to the fellowship program can be received at any time but decisions will be made for these limited positions more than one year in advance.   The interested candidate should send a letter of intent, CV, and 3 reference letters to the fellowship director Dr. Thomas Waddell as early as possible.
